About Social Work and Public Health

Social Work and Public Health at Oxford Brookes offers undergraduate (pre-qualifying) courses in midwifery and social work. We offer study opportunities to support your continuing professional needs by providing an extensive choice of post-qualifying and postgraduate courses in subject areas such as management and education, public health and social work.

We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our education, research and student support. In addition, we have substantial and growing links with overseas universities and health and social care care environments through our exchange programmes, research links and other education collaborations.

Our courses are designed and delivered to foster multidisciplinary perspectives, cultural competence, activism in public and social health policy, interdisciplinary and creative collaboration and professional leadership.

We provide flexible study options with a diverse range of teaching methods, including blended and distance learning and the online Oxford Brookes Virtual Learning Environment.

We have a large and well equipped site at Marston Road on the university’s Headington Campus in Oxford with access to first-rate facilities including classrooms, lecture theatres, dedicated simulation and communication skills suites and resources, anatomy models and fully networked computer rooms. We have excellent IT and library resources, accessible both via the web and a range of locally based facilities on university and NHS sites.
